Caprasia Macabeo Crianza sobre lÃas 75cl 🌱 Bio
Bodegas Vegalfaro, Ã Utiel-Requena - BIO
This wine is made from Macabeo and Chardonnay grapes which are vinified separately before being blended. It is a pale straw lemon colour with a pronounced aromatic intensity on the nose of ripe pineapple and tropical peach flavours, white flowers and subtle smoke and toast from the barrel aging of the Chardonnay.
It has refreshing acidity and a persistent, fruity finish.
This wine is very versatile – try it with appetizers, salads, smoked foods, fish and shellfish, pasta, noodles, seafood risotto or rice dishes, Asian dishes, or mild cheese.
In 1999 Andrés Valiente and his son Rodolfo first established Bodegas Vegalfaro, which is located in La Plana de Requena-Utiel, within the province of Valencia. The Bodega owns 60 hectares of vines that are divided into three separate vineyard plots based on soil, microclimate and grape variety.
All the vineyards are certified organic, as is the winery itself. Vegalfaro’s commitment to organic practices promotes biodiversity and sustainability. This in turn makes for both healthy soils and vines which produce equally healthy grapes.
Why is this wine called Caprasia? In Iberian it means ‘the land of the goats’, and the Caprasia label is a tribute to a time when wild goats ran free and the region’s original winemaking pioneers practiced viticulture between the Sierra Cabrillas and the River Cabriel. All Caprasia wines are sourced from the Finca Alfaro estate in Requena.
